Artist: Misty Monster
Title: Alice & the Monstrous Crow
Size: 16 in. x 18 in. x 1.75 in.
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas and Wood
“Tweedledum and Tweedledee
Agreed to have a battle;
For Tweedledum said Tweedledee
Had spoiled his nice new rattle.
Just then flew down a monstrous crow,
As black as a tar-barrel;
Which frightened both the heroes so,
They quite forgot their quarrel.”
Be very still, for the Tweedles are hiding from the Monstrous Crow! Though the Monstrous Crow is referenced in ‘Through the Looking Glass’, it was never illustrated. Alice thinks, “I wish the monstrous crow would come!” What if Alice had met the Monstrous Crow?! I like to imagine it was monstrous in size, but not necessarily monstrous in attitude. Maybe the Crow isn't as menacing as originally believed but merely a curiouser and curiouser Corvid!
