"I have a jar filled with dandelion puffs and a few dead bees. I call it a “dream jar” because it seems to me they are flying through wishes, and encapsulated forever in that moment. A memoir is an encapsulation of something beloved that we want to remember, but something beyond an object, a whole chapter or formative experience in life.
The dream jar in this illustration shows a bee specimen held aloft in the clouds, and makes me remember my parents- humble and hardworking, but also creative and full of hope for us.
I hold their memory while carrying their dreams forward with me."
