Inspired by San, the Wolf Girl, from Princess Mononoke, this doll pays tribute to one of my favorite films.
I’ve always admired the artistry, the powerful message, and the creativity that brings its cast of nuanced characters to life.
San and Lady Eboshi, fierce and strong women on opposing sides, represent a compelling duality that inspired this piece.
The doll includes a customized stand featuring three kodamas, ensuring she feels at home wherever she goes.
Her cape is crafted from real fur, with her little wolf ears peeking through at the top, stitched as though she made it herself.
It is removable and closes with a leather cord and a shell button. Her apron and boots are also made of soft leather,
sourced alongside the cape’s fur and the dress’s silk from flea markets in Paris and beyond, part of our collection of unique materials.
Her earrings are made from antique shell buttons.
Her mask, ears, crystal dagger, and other accessories were sculpted, 3D printed, and hand-painted.
Her mohair wig is styled on a 3D-printed wig cap, and her custom eyes were made to match her look in the film.
Every detail of Wolf Girl has been crafted with love and care, celebrating the spirit of Princess Mononoke and the timeless artistry
that inspired it.
